The Tao of Yoga: Exploring the Concepts of Yang and Yin in Hatha

with Kerry Porter Wills

Yin and Yang are relativistic terms in Taoist philosophy that I will use to describe specific body tissues worked in hatha practice. These tissues require different techniques to appropriately stretch and strengthen them. Students will learn a new way of framing the intent of their practice, rather than new poses. This is an excellent workshop for teachers and students of all levels of ability.

Kerry Porter Wills
I teach yoga from an eclectic perspective and an open mind. I approach my practice with the assurance that we all have the ability to teach from within, to discover yoga in much the same way as those who first experimented with energy in movement and thought. I have trained in a variety of yoga disciplines including Ashtanga, Kundalini and Yin yoga. I have sought out teachers who are generous and nurturing of the individual experience and strive to pass on these qualities in my teaching. I have been teaching for 5 years. I am certified at the 200 hour level in Dharma Yoga. This style emphasizes the practice as a meditation and infuses teachings from the Buddha along with traditional yogic philosopy.
